Death records maintained by the Clerk and the Bureau of Vital Statistics are closed to public inspection, with the exception of death records that have reached the 25th anniversary of the date of death as shown on the record.
However, if you are a qualified applicant, you will be able to purchase a Death Certificate for any death that took place in Kaufman County at the Kaufman County Clerk's Office dating from 1903 to the Present.
In 2016, a Resolution was signed to consolidate all birth and death records from the City of Terrell to the Kaufman County Clerk's Office. By transferring all the records to one central location, the Clerk's office is better able to serve the citizens of Kaufman County.
