A United States Veteran, Jakie has been invested in his country and community throughout his life. He is the past President of Crandall Economic Development Corporation, a former President of both the Kaufman County Livestock Show and Board and the Crandall Lions Club. He has served on multiple committees, including the Crandall ISD, Rotary Club in Forney, and as an Elder at the Landmark Church of Christ.
A former Kaufman County Commissioner, Jakie was appointed to the National Association of Counties in Washington D.C., and served on both the Agricultural and Rural Affairs and Immigration Task Force committees. While serving as County Commissioner, Jakie completed the 2-year V.G. Young Institute of County Government Academy and received several certificates.
A local business owner for 42 years, Jakie understands that business works best when government gets out of the way. He understands the need to be good stewards of the taxpayer's resources, and makes sure that everyone has a voice at the table.
Married to the love of his life for 53 years, Judy Priest Allen, they share three children and nine grandchildren.
