For assistance with a stray animal in your area, call the Sheriff’s Department at 972-932-4337. They’ll connect you with the Animal Control Officer on duty.

About the Kaufman County Pet Adoption Center

Our Story

The Kaufman County Pet Adoption Center has been spreading smiles and wagging tails since our groundbreaking ceremony on March 23, 2021. We celebrated our Grand Opening with a ribbon-cutting event on April 5, 2022, and we haven’t looked back since!

As of October 2024, Kaufman County proudly manages the Pet Adoption Center, ensuring it continues to be a welcoming haven for animals and their future families.

Capacity: Room for 55 dogs

A cutting-edge HVAC system for fresh, clean air—12 to 16 air exchanges per hour!

No air transfer between rooms to keep everyone healthy.
